Fashion Week - Rosa Chá by Amir Slama

The Rosa Chá show was exactly how you’d imagine a runway show. Tall, gorgeous women wearing eye-popping swimsuits embellished with Swarovski crystals. The tropical music and the bright whites, reds and turquoises at the Rosa Chá Spring Summer 2009 show made me forget it was raining outside.

Thinking about swimsuit season makes some stomachs turn, but I was happy to see many one-piece suits alongside halter bikinis and cut-out styles. One suit that struck me was a red one-piece with red and white patchwork detailing on the bottom half. For the runway, it looked stunning, but that suit would be a risk at the beach. Other patchwork suits and tunics throughout the show used contrasting color combinations. In the coming seasons, look for tops and dresses that combine two or more fabrics to get the patchwork look.

The torso of another suit was covered in jewels. Add a long skirt and it would be suitable for a red carpet event. Ladies, diamonds are in. Wait – when haven’t they been!? Wear diamonds or a brighter color on the body part you love to flaunt. Rosa Chá designer Amir Slama brought attention to the neckline by lining a deep v-neck with crystals. Bring this look from runway to hallway with extra large diamond earrings to put the focus on your face.

Rosa Chá was a great show, just like every other fashion week event I’ve been to.

P.S. – Nigel Barker attended the Rosa Chá show and this time I stood about two feet away from him on the way to my seat. He looks exactly the same as he does on TV!
