Happy New Year everyone! I am finally back from my relaxing break and ready to get to the gossip. A lot happened while I was away, so here we go. Celebuzz tells us that Travis McCoy and Katy Perry have broken up. Just a few weeks after a flood of engagement rumors, the hipster couple ended their two year relationship because they just couldnt stop fighting. Travis even took to his blog and posted these lyrics "We fight every night, now that's not kosher. I reminisce with bliss of when we was closer. And wake up to be greeted by an argument again, You act like you're ten."
Speaking of fighting: is it trouble in paradise for Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson or does drama just follow Lindsay wherever she goes? According to Celebitchy the couple got into a huge fight at the New Years party they hosted together at a Miami club and ended up having it out in a back alley. They continued to fight back when they got back to their hotel, where it got so physical they ended up trashing the whole room, even breaking some mirrors. It didnt even end there they got into another fight on their way back to L.A. Lindsay was so inconsolable she was asked if she wanted to get off the plane before it took off. What do you think is going on with these two?
There have also been some rumors flying about a very odd couple, so unlikely, that I am really having a hard time believing it. And honestly I hope its not true, for his sake. Hollywood Rag tells us that George Clooney has been spotted out in L.A. a few times with Paris Hilton, yes you heard me right, Paris Hilton. Its not just weird because of their 20 year age difference, it just seems like George Clooney could have any woman in the world, why would he go for Paris Hilton? Why do you think?
Xoxo and glad to be back!

Take a look at this car and guess the one person that could be driving such a monstrosity. Yes, this custom-made Barbie pink Bentley is none other than Paris Hiltons new ride. Well, it certainly screams Paris Hilton, its like the pink bat mobile. I mean, here at CosmoGirl we certainly love pink. But would you ever drive something like this?
Ill be the first to admit that I am a bit celebrity obsessed, obviously, but this is just plain crazy. SocialiteLife tells us that the tissue Scarlett Johansson used to blow her nose on the Jay Leno show last week sold on ebay for $5,300. What is someone going to do with that? Frame it? Would you ever buy something that was used by your favorite celebrity?
It must be hard being married to or even dating a musician they tour for months at a time and are surrounded by other women. Its rough even if you are Miss Jennifer Lopez. But according to SocialiteLife, JLo makes sure Marc Anthony stays faithful while hes away and shes home taking care of the babies by having one of her assistants travel with him and keep an eye out. Do you think this is crazy or just a good precautionary tactic? Let me know.

Im sure, by now, youve all been accustomed to me blogging about Twilight.
Ive really enjoyed it, and loved that what I thought would be the culmination of my Twilight blogging was a fun review of the movie. But, I was wrong.
I write today because of the rumors I have been hearing from fellow Twilight-ers and gossip sites like Perez Hilton. Word on the street is that Summit Entertainment is looking to replace Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black in the upcoming sequel, New Moon.
To be quite honest, I think its a pretty good idea.
Normally Im not a fan of switching actors for sequels, but if you think about the plot of New Moon and how drastically Jacob Black changes from the first book to the second, it almost makes sense to cast an older actor. Dont get me wrong, I love Taylor, but Im sure hell have no problem finding work now that Twilight has become such a box office success!
The rumors on Perez say that Michael Copon, who played Brookes love interest Felix on One Tree Hill, is campaigning for the role. Personally, I think he would be a good match hes tall, has the correct skin complexion and is incredibly cute!
Im also really excited about the new director, Chris Weitz. I think Catherine Hardwicke did a wonderful job with Twilight, but I think a new perspective will give New Moon exactly what it means. If you think about it, the plots of both books are completely different, so the switch in directors may prove to be very beneficial to the outcome of the film!
What do you think about the new director? Who should play Jacob Black in New Moon?
So, I'm a bookworm. If I ever stumble upon a bookstore I can't help but walk in. And once inside a bookstore I can't not buy a book. My goal in life is to have a giant library like in Beauty and the Beast, with a ladder that slides across the shelves....
Anyway, a friend recently asked me for some book ideas, and I thought I would impart my wisdom upon those of you looking for some recreational reading.
The Rule of Four By Ian Caldwell and Dustin
Thomason
This fictional book is sort of similar to The Da Vinci Code. It has some historical aspects to it, but lots of adventure and intrigue. It revolves
around a group of best friends at Princeton University, a coded manuscript and a murder on campus.
Amsterdam By Ian McEwan
For those of you who saw the movie Atonement, it was written by Ian McEwan, who has written several other amazing books. One of my favorites is
Amsterdam. In this novel, two friends meet up after one of their friends dies. They end up making a pact that will change both of their lives in a
way neither suspected.
Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen
This novel by Jacob Jankowski, is told in flashbacks about the time he spent with the Benzini Brothers traveling circus. It is a love story, but readers also get
an interesting take on what happens behind-the-scenes of the circus.
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde
This is the first book in the Thursday Next series written by British author Jasper Fforde. This series is for people who love books and don't mind the
fantasy genre. It takes place in an alternate 1985, where literary detective Thursday Next pursues a master criminal through the world of Charlotte
Bronte's book Jane Eyre.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg
Larsson
I figured I should include what I am currently reading. I bought this book based on the recommendation of my book publishing teacher, and so far I haven't
been disappointed. The novel is a thriller that combines murder, mystery, family, love, and financial intrigue.
What books are you reading? What are your favorites?
Love,
Stacey
I'm totally into finding out what ridiculous names celebs give their babies it's like each one is trying to outdo the other in originality and quite often the go way wrong, ahem, Bronx (Ash and Pete). Do you think a star will ever name their kid something normal and boring like Megan?
Also, am I the only one into this (maybe because I'm getting old? Boo hoo!) or do you guys find the name game interesting too? Well, I hope you do because a list of the best/worst baby names for 2008 just came out. Looks like they agreed with me with Bronx being the worst for a boy, and Jagger Joseph Blue (Soleil Moon Frye), the worst for a girl (yes a girl). Weirdly, Knox (Brangelina) which sounds a lot like Bronx was best boy name #2, with Caleb James (Bo Bice) #1 and Harlow Winter Kate (Nicole Richie) #1 for girls. I do like Harlow. What do you think of the list? What baby names do you like? Should I stop writing about celeb baby names?
The rumor mill is at is again (surprise!) and the talk according to Celebitchy is people are accusing Miley Cyrus's 20-year-old model boyfriend, Justin Gaston, of using her to further his own fame. There isn't much proof that he is, but I definitely had never heard of him pre-Miley. Sources say that he has gotten a lot more modeling jobs since they started hanging out and people are starting to pay attention to his music. Apparently he wants to be a singer too. What do you think? Is it true love between Miley and Justin or is he just trying to make it big?

Imagine an artist whos a mix of Queen Latifah, Evanescence, and Celine Dion. Kind of hard right? Well, Krista, a new 21-year old singer, songwriter, and musician from Brooklyn, New York, doesnt get stuck in the world of genres and has taken inspiration from all these artists. Her music, whether beautiful vocals, or rap with hip-hop beats, shows this.
Like Kristas music, her life has been a bit all over the place, and she doesnt shy away from writing and singing about it. In her song Please Dont Go, she speaks of the rough relationship she had with her parents something many of us can relate to. Her honesty is one of many things that got Krista foot in the door as an artist. Now she is preparing to release her debut album Taking Back Brooklyn.
So, check out this exclusive video we of Krista recording "Please Dont Go" and tell us what you think. Also feel free to post any questions you have for Krista about her life, her music, or breaking into the industry. Well be sure to ask her and post the answers later.

I reported the other day how supposedly Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz want to be just like Brangelina. Well, baby names that end with an "x" is one similarity, but getting some cold hard cash for their baby's pics is not. According to DailyDoseOffFantasy no tabloids want to buy little Bronx's first photos apparently Ash and Pete just don't sell that many mags when they're on the cover. If I do remember correctly, the Jolie-Pitt twins raked in a cool $15 mill! Joe Simpson must be furious. Would you buy a mag with baby Bronx on the cover?
A new face of CoverGirl has just been revealed, and it's not the latest America's Next Top Model. Just Jared tells us that 50-year-old Ellen DeGeneres is the latest to model for the company. This is the talk-show host's first-ever beauty campaign and, well, she isn't exactly famous for her looks. What do you think of CoverGirl Ellen?
And finally, please take a look at this pic of Lily Allen, or more like of what Lily Allen is wearing, and what Lily Allen is wearing underneath what she is wearing. Just want to know your opinion, that's all.

After my Monday Gossip Roundup about all the Gossip Girl hookups, CosmoGirl.com reader Pochacogirl left a comment asking if Taylor (15) and Chace (23) were really ever dating, and if they still are? So, I did a little research and according to Page Six the couple was spotted kissing just this past weekend at the GG holiday party. Well, they may have not made it official to the press like Penn and Blake, but they certainly are more than friends. What do you guys think of this couple?
Congrats to Britney! It looks like all her hard work is paying off. Her album Circus is number one and according to Perez its even doing much better than people expected. Its the second biggest debut for a female this year (our girl Taylor Swift is #1) and beat out Beyoncé and Kanye. Have you guys bought Brits album, if so, what do you think of it?
And how could we do celeb gossip without a good old pregnancy rumor? This time its for Miss Avril Lavigne for some reason I always forget that the girl is married, she still seems like a bratty 15-year-old to me. Anyway, Celebitchy tells us that some pictures of Avril looking a little heavier and clutching a bag over her stomach have sparked the rumors. Maybe she is just enjoying some holiday sweets like the rest of us, give the girl a break. But if she is preggos, I cant wait to see what weird name they come up with for the kid.

Lindsay Lohan has gone to her MySpace page to make sure everyone knows that she and her girl, Samantha Ronson, are still a couple. But that has not stopped her from "nuzzling" up to one leading, not to mention married man, who may be about twice her age. Celebitchy tells us that Linds attended a private dinner for the film Milk sans Sam, and spent some time getting cozy with star Sean Penn. I know Linds is pretty and all, but isn't she a little low for Sean to stoop, and, um, aren't they both off the market? Maybe they were just "discussing" a future role in one of his films.
Two of my favorite celebs (I guess I just love all things hipster boho) apparently do not like each other. According to Lainey Gossip Mary-Kate Olsen and Kirsten Dunst were at the same table at a party in Miami and got into a little spat causing MK and her man to get up and leave. Unfortunately those are the only details I have. What do you think these two girls could be fighting over? Who rocks a plaid flannel shirt better?
It looks like the Gossip Girl rumor that I reported on the last week is in fact true. Jessica Szohr (Vanessa) and Ed Westwick (my fave Chuck Bass) were spotted together again at The Box in NYC holding hands and going to the GG holiday party together, says Just Jared. Looks like they might be a real couple. So now it's Penn and Blake, there was Taylor and Chace, now Ed and Jessica, even Leighton is dating someone who guest starred on the show. What do you think of all the onset romance?

Holiday music is great, but when I am looking to get into the Christmas spirit, songs about riding sleighs and making snowmen just dont cut it for me. Instead, I turn to movies.
Christmas movies are normally exaggerated and silly, but I think that's what I love about them the most. In what other context can a grown man prance around in yellow tights, eating spaghetti drenched with syrup and singing carols everywhere he goes (see: Elf).
Lately I've been looking to Christmas movies to take my mind off of everything that happens this time of year. The poor economy means money is tight, and after living at school since last January, I'm ready to be home for more than two consecutive days at a time.
But, no matter what troubles I have, I will always laugh watching A Christmas Story when Ralphie dreams of a BB gun but gets shot down when his mother says he'll "shoot his eye out."
And at some points, I can really relate to the Grinch in How the Grinch Stole Chrismas. Sometimes, I'd rather dwell alone in my "cave" than be among all the cheer. But I always appreciate when my own personal Cindy Lou Who comes to bring me holiday cheer.
Of course, there are always the classics like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and The Muppet Christmas Carol, which are perfect for watching with the family I haven't seen in ages.
I can't wait to see new movies like Four Christmases and see how I can relate the on-screen insanity to my own, personal holiday experiences.
What gets you into the Holiday spirit?
Author Stephenie Meyer finds her Muse on the Twilight soundtrack.
Stephenie Meyer, the best-selling author of the Twilight saga, is known for spilling her typing tunage. After the release of each novel, she compiles a list of songs, each of which, she says, lends itself as inspiration to a certain chapter within the book. Soon after, they are uploaded in the form of playlists on StephenieMeyer.com, a scholarly haven for those wishing to acquire a deeper understanding of all things Edward Cullen.
We 90's children don't usually blast the English rock band, Muse, from our pink Skullcandy earphones. But, thanks to the Mormon author and her romance with all things gothic, teenagers bitten by Meyer's romance have a newfound appreciation for all things de-popified. Though Twilight is primarily a high school romance, the majority of singles are pop rock lite.
When Summit Entertainment announced the release of the film adaptation of Twilight, it wasn't hard for execs to find inspired voices to jump on board for a soundtrack contribution. The first of which was Paramore, a group of young rockers fronted by a scarlet-haired female: Hayley Williams.
Williams happens to be a self-proclaimed fan of the series. She took the Bella Cullen Project (a trio of young singer-songwriters who sing from the perspective of Twilight heroine, Isabella Swan) a step further by writing "Decode," a somewhat contrived tale of the book's star-crossed lovers.
Though "Decode"'s lyrics capture a pivotal aspect of the series, that mind-reading vamp Edward can't "decode" the inner workings of his mortal love's mind, they don't jibe with the rest of the film's storyline a crucial problem given director Catherine Hardwicke's decision to throw it into the Oscar race for Best Original Song.
Where Paramore's "Decode" falters, Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole" rocks on - literally. Muse is a regular on each much-anticipated, Meyer playlist. Muse, long known for mixing the genres of rock and pop, is the perfect fit for a girl still exploring her musical taste. As the slinky, sexy answer to teenage sexual tension, the song's lyrics echo the themes of the film's forbidden love: "You caught me under false pretenses; how long before you let me go?"
Folk group Iron & Wine pitch in with their delicate tune, "Flightless Bird, American Mouth." Singer Sam Beam's voice caresses his offbeat lyrics, excusing the discussion of becoming a "fat house cat" in love thanks to the simple but uplifting melody those three foul words are sung to.
Rob Pattinson, who houses a husky Jeff Buckley in his voice box, offered two songs of his own creation: "Never Think" and "Let Me Sign." Though half of each song is solely instrumental, waiting for his earnest growl to surface midway is worth the wait.
Finally, Carter Burwell composes his score, only one song of which is featured on the soundtrack: "Bella's Lullaby." Pattinson hits the keys in character for the film, enhancing a tune that is ethereal, romantic, and eerie as though something lies just around the corner.
Lucky for Kristen Stewart's Bella, it's not an angry vampire but a sequel. New Moon, the second novel in the Twilight series, is slated for a December 2009 release.
What do you think, CosmoGirls? Do you love the Twilight soundtrack too? Are you dying for New Moon?
FYI: If you were looking for Carter Burwell's complete score, that album will be available in stores on December 9.

Did anyone see Gossip Girl last night? It was amazing, with all the necessary elements: Blair/Chuck banter, Nate/Jenny/Vanessa drama, and even a little love between parents Lily and Rufus. Sorry I am a little obsessed. Anyway the real gossip wasnt even last night, or, onset at all. Perez tells us that Jessica Szohr, Ed Westwick, and Chace Crawford all went to Chaces family home in Texas for Thanksgiving (how cute!) and on the way home at the airport, Ed and Jessica were all over each other. Wow, there is certainly a lot of onscreen and off-screen romance going on.
Barbara Walters has released her list of the most fascinating people of 2008, well, all except the number 1 spot, which she will reveal on her Dec 4th ABC Special. Here is the list, read it and then we can compare notes:
10. Will Smith (WHY? Maybe 5 years ago)
9. Tom Cruise (Ditto. But more like 10 years ago)
8. Tina Fey (Agreed!)
7. Rush Limbaugh (Ugh)
6. Miley Cyrus (Popular, yes. Fascinating, I am not so sure)
5. Michael Phelps (Obviously)
4. Sarah Palin (I hate to admit it, but yes)
3. Frank Langella (Hes an actor who played President Nixon in the play and recent film Frost/Nixon. I had to google that I cant believe I didnt even know who the #3 was!)
2. Thomas Beatie (Yes I suppose a pregnant man is pretty fascinating)
1.??? (Well I really think it has to be none other then Mr. President Barack Obama. Duh.)
What do you guys think about this list? Agree with me? Anyone she missed? Anyone who shouldnt be there?
